Your own website.
ArtsCurator is a promotional service that allows you to create the design and style of your own website and then add and manage the content whenever you like.

Registration
You can register for the service via the 'Purchase' page of this website. If you choose to register online your website could be up and running within 48 hours.

Your web address
You can continue using your own web address (domain name) if you already have one, or, if you want to choose a new one, and it is available, we will register it for you.

Your web address will be independent of our website, and when people type your domain name into any web browser, it will only show your website, not the ArtsCurator website. We believe in promoting your art professionally, so there will be no links or any branding of ours on your website.

You can search for your domain name using our search tool.

Your Email
If you would like an email address that is the same as your website domain name, we can set this up for you.

Copyright
All material you submit onto your website remains under your commercial control, including all copyrights, artwork images and website content.

Individuality and your design
As an artist, it is important for you to be able to display your work in exactly the way you want.

ArtsCurator has been created to offer you a wide range of possible designs and layouts which all come in many styles. This leads to a huge combination of possible websites. You can have fun experimenting with the designs and styles to find the right combination to show off your artwork to its best potential.

With the uniqueness of your art and the range of styles available, your site will look different from anyone else's.

Building and updating your site
You can log in to the service to begin updating your website via the 'Members Login' at the top of any page on the www.artscurator.co.uk website.

Building your website has never been easier. You can choose from a huge range of styles and designs by just clicking buttons in your web browser.
You can view every change you make on a special test site before you change your live site.

Uploading the content for your website is as simple as typing in the text in a web form and clicking submit.

You can upload images of your artwork via a web form by browsing your hard drive or cd's for your images, there is no need for special uploading software. If you are familiar with resizing images and optimizing them for the web, you can do this yourself, however, if you do not know how to do this, or don't want to, ArtsCurator will optimize and resize your images for you.

Using ArtsCurator requires no technical knowledge or software, other than a web browser.

You can also view an online demo of how to use ArtsCurator before you buy!

Uploading images of your artwork
This website includes an online guide that provides resources and information on how to get professional digital images of your artwork onto your computer so that you can upload them using ArtsCurator onto your website.

Your Website
To see examples of artist's websites that are already using artsCurator, please click on the artist's links on our homepage.

ArtsCurator is easy to use, and has been developed by and for artists. It is because of this, that the functionality of your website is optimal for selling and promoting your art. Your site can contain the following pages:

  • Home Page
Your home page is the introductory page to your website. Just like the cover of a book, it should be interesting and lead people into the rest of your site.

  • Portfolio Pages
You can create portfolios to contain your artwork. People can then view your artwork by choosing which portfolio to look at. You can also arrange your artwork by medium. If you create different types of artwork in different mediums, this can be useful for your customers to find the type of art they are looking for. (e.g sculpture, oils, water colours, photography etc).

Alternatively, you might not want to group your artwork together at all. All these options are available and it is up to you how you wish your site to be laid out. The options are designed to be flexible and easy to set up, and you can always view your changes and how your site looks before putting them on your live website, and you can always change things around if you don't like the way it is laid out.

  • Exhibition Page
If you have exhibitions that your artwork has been displayed at, or exhibitions that you will be attending, you can add an exhibition page. All of your exhibitions can be shown here, with details of when and where they are being held.

  • Links Page
You can add links to other people's websites. Swapping links with other websites is the best way to increase your ranking on search engines.

  • Contact Page
Your customers may want to contact you to buy your artwork, or to ask about exhibitions. You can choose what contact details are displayed on your contact page, including a link to an auto-generated detailed map if you want to.

Help and Support when you need it
We hope you won't even need to look at the help files, but should you require them, ArtsCurator comes with a downloadable help manual and every item on the screen is explained in the online help.
An explanation of the form you are changing or page you are viewing is always just one click away.
This is achieved by our special 'context sensitive' help functionality, the help manual will always be open at the right page.
