Once you have completed your website with artsCurator and have published your site, you will need to tell as many people about your artwork as possible. It is not enough just to build a website and hope your customers will come by themselves. Here are some steps which can help you increase traffic to your website and hopefully increase sales of your work. Search Engines The easiest step you can take is to make sure you have completed the search engine information form in the artsCurator software. This is found in the 'Web Pages' section under the 'General' tab. These form fields will automatically add the necessary code to your web pages to optimise your site for search engines. Search engines will automatically come and rank your website, however, you can speed up this process by registering with them. The most popular search engine is Google. You can register with Google here: Google Registration Google also has different advertiser options if you don't mind paying a small amount to get your website listed in the top or right hand side of search results. Information on this can be found here. Swapping Links However, although these steps are very important, the best way to get a high listing or ranking on search engines, is to get as many people as possible to link to your website. Check your local business directories to see if you can get them to add a free link to your website. Some web administrators will swap links with you, artsCurator allows you to add links onto your site pointing to other sites to make this possible. If you cleverly choose where your site is linked from, by choosing websites that your customers might be looking at, you can drive the correct type of customer who is most likely to buy something on your website. The more links to your site, the more important search engines will think your site is.
